We made it!!

I apologize for the late announcement – but we all made it here to Tanzania safe and sound! We met up with everyone from our group and have arrived at our first destination – the Baobab Home in Bagamoyo. We are still trying to get WiFi set up and haven’t had access for quite some time, hence our lack of reassurance that we have all made it. We hope to get it up soon so that we can upload pictures and tell you more of our adventures traveling for the past 24 hours.

It is now about 9am in the morning and many students are going on only a few hours of sleep (those in-flight movies were way too entertaining!). But they are all currently pitching in, helping to set up tents and some have even milked a cow early this morning! Everyone is in GREAT spirits and thoroughly excited to be in Africa! That has probably been the most common statement: “I can’t believe we’re actually here…in Africa!”

We hope to update soon with pictures – just wanted everyone at home to know we have arrived safe and sound.

Kwaheri! (Goodbye)
